Alfred P. Sloan Foundation

-Student Production Grant, 2012

Founded in 1934, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation funds research in science and technology as well as science education and awareness. The Sloan Foundation also supports film, television and radio projects that endeavor to promote realistic depictions of science and scientists in art and entertainment. Each year the Sloan Foundation partners with six universities, including USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, to awards feature script, animation and short film production grants to students who create stories that take a realistic approach to issues in science and technology. The script for Nzara ’76 was awarded the 2012 Alfred P. Sloan USC production grant, totaling $20,000.

This film would not have been possible without the generous support of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and I am proud to be a small part of their effort to promote realistic depictions of science in the arts.

Carol & Larry Auerbach and Family Finishing Fund

-USC SCA Finishing Fund Grant, 2014

The Carol and Larry Auerbach and Family Finishing Fund is a post production grant awarded to productions that, due to unforeseen events, require extra funds to finish their film. We are grateful to be one of the 2014 recipients of the Auerbach grant, which allowed us to finish color correction and other post processes for Nzara ’76.
